I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. Romans 7:9–10 In 1942, C S Lewis wrote a brilliant book entitled The Screwtape Letters . It tells the story of a senior demon teaching a junior demon how to exploit man’s weaknesses and frailties. “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10, NIV I want to give you a simple but critical truth. Memorize this truth. Feed on it. Let it take root in your spirit and become an anchor in your life. You will never be the same again. There is nothing that you can ever do to make Him love you more, and nothing that you can ever do to make Him love you less. Even—or perhaps especially —when you feel like you have failed, know that you will always be the apple of His eye. Always . God loves you with an eve
