"The Bible defines God very clearly—He is love (see 1 John 4:8). This is what He wants you to know Him for today—His unfailing love for you." - Pastor Joseph Prince
I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. Romans 7:9–10 In 1942, C S Lewis wrote a brilliant book entitled The Screwtape Letters . It tells the story of a senior demon teaching a junior demon how to exploit man’s weaknesses and frailties. Along the same lines, I would imagine that Romans 7:9 is probably the most studied and memorized verse in hell. All junior demons would be taught this verse and the lecture would be titled, “How to bring about a revival of sin”! According to Paul, when you introduce the law, there will be a REVIVAL OF SIN! And that’s not all. Apart from reviving sin, the law also kills and brings death! Isn’t it amazing, then, that there are well-meaning ministers who preach strongly on the Ten Commandments, thinking that imposing the law would cause sin to be removed? According to Romans 3:20, “ by the law is the knowledge of sin .” I...
INCREASED HONOUR Bishop Dag Heward-Mills READ: Galatians 6:6-8 “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour?…” - Malachi 1:6 A trend of increasing honour in a church can only come about by teaching the subject, emphasizing the Word of God and leaving the congregation to appreciate the gift of God in their midst. I know churches where the impact of the pastor is great within the church because there is a strong maintenance of the appreciation culture in that congregation. The pastor himself may strongly introduce himself and inform the congregation of their need to appreciate and recognize the gift that God has placed in their midst. This is important so that the congregation does not miss the blessings of the anointing. What is the point of having such a great gift in your midst and not benefiting from it? What is the point of having the biggest river in your city and yet have a shortage of water? What is the use of bre...
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Once, the Lord showed me a vision of what happened at the cross. I saw how all the sins of the entire human race (lies, deceit, envy, bitterness, adultery, addiction, bondage, murder) and all the consequences of sin (fear, sicknesses, guilt, disease, and condemnation) swirled around Jesus like evil spirits and demons, laughing heinously, taunting and tormenting Him. Jesus became like a magnet for all sin and of His own volition accepted all this sin into His own body. You and I will never be able to imagine the excruciating pain that tore through His body at the cross. Every malignant cancer, every tumor, every sickness, and every disease came upon Him at the same time. He who knew no sin took upon Himself the mountainous weight of all men’s darkest and foulest sins. He took it all Himself. The Word says that “He Himself took our infirmitie...
