READ: Acts 19:1-7

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 19:6
When the disciples in the upper room came under the influence of the Holy Spirit they began to pray in tongues on the day of Pentecost. When the household of Cornelius came under the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit they began to pray in tongues. When the disciples in Ephesus came under the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit they began to pray in tongues.
If you are not under the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit you will be subject to devilish influences which will make you seek power elsewhere. Witchcraft, occult and other demonic sources will become the source of your power. When you come under a devilish influence you will be opposed to prayer and deny its power. This is because a devilish influence will lead you away from a relationship with God through prayer. Your life will be governed by the senses and not by God. This is because a sensual person lives his life serving the lusts of his flesh and his mind. You will be too lazy to pray! You will need food, rest and pleasure all the time and therefore have no time to pray. The sweet influence of the Holy Spirit is the anointing for prayer. It is the supernatural ability and grace given to a believer to pray.
The sweet influence of the anointing gives you the ability to speak in tongues because every time the anointing for prayer fell on people they began to speak in tongues. The anointing for prayer was given several times in the book of Acts. The Holy Spirit helps the infirmities of believers by helping them to pray
